It says it could not verify my browser
If a form on our site says "We could not verify your browser" — signing up, or sending us a message from the contact page — nothing is wrong with what you typed. Nothing was charged, no account was created and no message was sent, so you can try again straight away.
Those pages run a quiet background check from Google called reCAPTCHA, which is what keeps automated sign-ups and spam off the site. There is no puzzle to solve and nothing to tick — but if the check itself cannot load, the form has no way to tell you apart from a bot, so it stops rather than guesses.
Three things fix almost every case.
Allow google.com. Ad blockers, script blockers and privacy extensions are the usual cause — uBlock Origin, Ghostery, Privacy Badger and NoScript among them, and the strict tracking-protection settings in Firefox and Brave. Allow google.com and gstatic.com for somebody.cards, or switch the extension off for this one page, then reload and submit again.
Reload and try once more. If you pressed the button while the check was still loading, a reload is often all it takes.
Try a private window, or another browser. An incognito or private window usually runs without extensions, which tells you in one go whether an extension is the problem.
If you are signing up on a work, school or hotel network, a firewall there may be blocking Google rather than anything on your own machine. Trying again on your phone over mobile data is the quickest way to find out.
Still stuck? Email support@somebody.cards and tell us which browser you are using and whether you have an ad blocker switched on. Nobody should miss out on a card over a browser check, and we will get you signed up.
