What happens to my email address if I fill in a campaign form?
Some cards open an offer page rather than somebody's profile, and that page may ask for your email address. This is what happens to it.
It goes to the brand whose offer you are looking at
The page names them before you type anything - "We pass this to them so they can contact you about this offer" - and that is exactly what happens. The brand running the campaign gets your address so they can get in touch about it.
Pressing Send is how you agree to that. There is no separate tick-box: the page tells you who gets your address, and sending the form is the agreement.
If a brand has connected the form to their own system, your details arrive there as well as on their list with us. That is the brand's own CRM or marketing tool, and once your address is in it, how they use it is between you and them.
What is collected
Your email address, and your name if you chose to give one - the name is optional and the form says so.
We also record the internet address you submitted from. That is to stop the form being flooded with invented people, and it is not given to the brand: it is not on their screen and not in anything they can download.
Nothing else. The page does not ask for a phone number, and tapping a card without filling the form collects nothing about you at all.
If you fill it in twice
You are one person on the list, not two. Tapping a second card, or the same card again, updates the name and keeps the day you first got in touch.
Changing your mind
We do not email you - the brand does, from their own system. So the quickest route is to reply to whatever they send and ask them to stop; that is also the only way to be removed from a copy that has already reached their CRM.
If you would rather ask us, contact support and name the offer you filled the form in for, and we will remove you from the list held here.
What we do not do with it
We do not sell it, and we do not add you to anything of our own. The campaign you filled the form in for is the only thing it was collected for.
